QUESTION: How many drops of water will fit on a penny?
HYPOTHESIS: I think that 20 drops of water will fit on the penny.
PROCEDURE: I took one penny, a dropper, and a cup of water. I started adding drops of water on top of the penny.
RESULTS: I kept putting drops of water on the penny. The water kept on arching up like beads. When I got to the 58th drop of water the water started spilling off of the penny.
CONCLUSION: Since it took 58 drops of water, my hypothesis was wrong. Surface tension, which is the tightness across the surface of water that is caused by the polar molecules pulling on one another, is what held the water on the penny.
