GREEN HOUSE EFFECT

A green house effect is a a process of gases holding heat in air. This is what keeps the earth the temperature that we like. If we did not have this, the Earth would probably be really cold, and if the earth was really cold, you couldn't live on it. Earth's temperature actually remains constant by the amount of energy radiated into space. So without these gases you could not live on Earth. This serves as a protective blanket around the earth.
